Thank you for coming. Your performance went down really well and was a key contribution to a very successful day.

I loved your colour scheme; the visual impact was great even before you started to sing! Then the songs were really interesting, I loved the political edge and the dash of feminism and the lovely variety.
The singing was wonderful, so expressive and musical, and I enjoyed the occasional addition of guitar and other instruments.
Above all, as a group you are so warm and enthusiastic the audience can’t help but be drawn in to share that with you, which made it a really uplifting experience for us.
Do please come again!

The choir experience at Morley was a total delight and a wonderful song journey around the world. Hearing songs from Canada, the Amazon, Bulgaria, the US and South Africa – my particular favourite – among others, was really life affirming.
A real joy and I am very happy I came.

Mum and I really enjoyed the singing. It was uplifting, entertaining and thought provoking.
The music was joyful and calm in places but also so emotional and I spoke to a few people who said some of the songs brought them to tears – of joy and empathy.
Just lovely to see a group of people making wonderful music together and enjoying themselves, you could have heard a pin drop, the audience were so involved in the music.

This was a fantastic event. Of particular note was the selection of material – songs by and for women predominantly, and so inclusive: from all over the world, and often sung in their original language. It really emphasised that women’s experiences are shared and global. My response to many of the songs was emotional and visceral – and all so beautifully sung in clever harmonies that thrilled and moved.
A real treat!

South Petherton Methodist Church Summer Concert 2019
“We were pleased to welcome Wessex Women’s Choir to a Summer Concert. Their unique style of singing in a variety of languages, mainly unaccompanied was greatly enjoyed by our audience.”
South Petherton Folk Day 2019
“The Wessex Women sang a wide variety of songs with the most expressive and sensitive approach to details . The enunciation and dynamic range gave the impression that the whole choir had prepared successfully the music and lyrics for their Petherton Folk Fest performance.”

Kingsbury May Day 2019
“This is really to say a huge ‘Thank you’ to the ladies for a really splendid ‘set’ of songs. The singing was as good as always and everyone was very impressed with the quality of the singing, and the choice of songs. Wessex Women never fail to be a ‘star turn’.
Please pass on our thanks to the ladies for coming to help and support us, and giving such splendid entertainment.
I appreciate the hard work that goes into preparing and rehearsing even a short concert performance.
Well done all of you, I hope that all being well we will be asking you again next year.”

Fanny’s Meadow 2019
Wessex Women doing a great set at Fanny’s Meadow last Sunday to an audience that included a very appreciative dog who said afterwards that the songs were very enjoyable but felt that there should have been one or two songs for dogs such as ‘Hound Dog’ or ‘Salty Dog’. Maybe next time …?
